Data acquisition technology for free fall
The demand for recreational activities that offer thrills and action in addition to a fun time is booming. Indoor skydiving, in which a vertical wind tunnel simulates the free fall of skydiving, is therefore enjoying increasing popularity. The first and highest enclosed vertical flight chamber in Europe was realized by Indoor Skydiving GmbH (ISG) 2009 in Bottrop. The entire control technology for this innovative skydiving concept comes from measX – from measurement data collection to regulation of the 400 KW fans. ISG has built more of these powerful wind tunnels, which are used by both pros and amateurs, in Voss/Norway, in St. Petersburg/Russia, in Charleroi/Belgium, Vienna/Austria, Warsaw/Poland and other cities around the world.
With already 17 systems (*) in operation, it is one of the most sucessful projects realised with measX support. And furthermore recreational facilities are in planning. Here as well, measX will supply an advanced real-time system and complex automation technology for the ultimate and, above all, safe flying experience.
